A review of The Old Police Station Cafe by Amanda andrews written on Sunday 1st of May 2011
On Mothers Day we only had an hour as we were on a coach trip from Hartlepool sowe called in at this "cafe". Two couples were in front of us and were being served by a young girl who did'nt have a clue and was at a snails pace. I eventually ordered 2 bacon rolls and 2 cups of coffee, it cost £11.20. The coffees were cold the bacon rolls were undercooked and cold. I returned them to the counter and the people whe were waiting to be served before me were also returning their drinks and cakes saying their teas were cold and their cakes were'nt fresh. We got a replacement and the bacon in our rolls was still undercooked and greasy. Appalling service terrible food, Helmsley was packed that particular day and there was'nt anybody in that "cafe" now I know why, everywhere else was packed..
