A review of Dringhouses Sports Club by JOHN LAWSON written on Friday 19th of March 2010
JOHN LAWSON MR DRINGHOUSES FOOTBALL CLUB SADLY PASSED AWAY ON FEBRUARY 1990, AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS. HE WAS ONE OF DRINGHOUSES FOOTBALL CLUBS,GREATEST CLUB SERVANT.
IF IT WAS NOT FOR HIM THE CLUB COULD HAVE FOLDED MANY YEARS AGO, WITHOUT THE CLUB MOVING FROM A PITCH ON HOB MOOR,STRAY TO THE ST.HELENS ROAD,GROUND. THE HOB MOOR PITCH HAD ONLY A HUT TO CHANGE IN, AND THE FACILITIES WERE VERY POOR.THE PLAYERS NOW HAVE A FIRST CLASS SET UP
SPORTS CLUB FOR A DRINK AFTER THE MATCH, AN EXCELLENT PITCH, AND GOOD CHANGING ROOMS.
WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE CLUB WAS STILL ON HOB MOOR?
