A review of Jorvik Café by Alan written on Sunday 3rd of August 2014
Re: Visit Tuesday 29th July 2014
What a disappointing, tasteless & lukewarm meal, of which the contents were obviously pre-cooked and kept in/under heaters. It most certainly wasn't freshly cooked ... although, admittedly, the menu doesn't make this claim!
Rubbery egg [solid yolk].
Rubbery [tinned] mushrooms x 4 [small].
Smallest rashers of bacon I've ever had and were like pieces of cardboard.
Skin on sausage was hard and [therefore] difficult to cut through ...
Salad tomato x 1/4 [maybe a 1/3] not 1/2.
Beans were ok [tho' obviously a cheap brand].
Soggy toast.
Stewed tea.
Asked for brown sauce and was given '2' sachets [cheap brand not HP]. N.B. There were '5' of us in group.
Also, having since checked the café's website, the menu info' on there is out of date!
Price is not £5.65m, is now £6.10.
Do not get a hash brown but do get mushrooms. However, considering my view of the mushrooms, the hash brown would have been preferable.
