A review of Bengal Brasserie by Poppy written on Wednesday 5th of December 2007
The most charming thing about this restaurant is the staff, they are helpful, courteous and frinedly without, helpful without being pushy, friendly without seeming false and have an air of quality and pride.
I have only eaten here once, I chose a speciality dish and ate alone as I was in York on business and didn't fancy the hotel food. The food was delicous and the service impecable. I felt as though the staff my a special effort as I was eating alone, but I soon realised that they were this helpful and kind to every customer.
I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant to anyone. The restaurant is small and cozy, without being cramped and the food tasted fresh and you could tell that each dish was prepared fresh for you. It is no wonder that this restaurant won the top 30 indian restaurant award in 2005, this acolade was truly deserved..
